β¨π Our Grade 1s brought their favourite stories to life today! From superheroes to fairytale characters, Literacy Day was filled with colour, creativity, and a love for reading. ππ #LiteracyDay #bookcharacterdressup
Literacy day! Our school was like a magical world of fantasy characters. The children had great fun dressing up like their favourite book character. Lots of giggles and fun was had by all including the teachers with their Crazy hair day. These are some of the amazing Grade two costumes. Thank you parents for helping your children look incredible.
β¨π Today our Grade R and Grade 1 learners were treated to a magical storytime with childrenβs author Tina Scotford as part of Literacy Week! The children were captivated by her story and loved hearing about her journey as an author β from writing to publishing. Tina truly inspired our young readers and encouraged many of our children to imagine themselves as writers too! πβοΈπ
A very big thank you to Aunty Kat from Sprout - Helping Kids Grow for spending some time with our Grade R this morning. The children learnt about various insects called our 'Garden Helpers' that help to keep our gardens flourishing. Everyone planted a Zinnia flower! We can't wait to see them grow and watch them bloom. Thank you Kat for sharing your garden knowledge and passion for nature with us π·
Our Grade two and three leaners had a lovely visit today from Merle Mclennan a local author. She read the children various short stories from her books called Amelia's Magic Staircase. All the stories had a moral at the end, beautiful illustrations and references to collective nouns. The children enjoyed listening to her stories. What a wonderful way to celebrate Literacy week!
